Prof. Mochen Yang
Associate Professor of Information and Decision Sciences
Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota Mochen Yang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Decision Sciences at Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. His research interests include the "make" and "use" aspects of algorithmic decision-making, where he designs algorithms to support decision-making in information-intensive environments and examines the antecedents of algorithmic reliance as well as its impact on decision quality, fairness, and privacy. He teaches business analytics and machine learning related topics at the graduate and executive levels.
Susan Haun
Senior Director, Recruiting and Admissions - MBA & MS Programs
Carlson School of Management Susan Haun, Director of Recruiting, Susan Haun is the Director of Recruiting for the Carlson School of Management MBA & MS programs. She is passionate about helping students transform and reach their career goals through the skills, resources, and knowledge gained through graduate education. Susan has 12 years of experience in the higher education sector (University of Minnesota, University of Chicago, University of Chicago, Loyola University Chicago) and 7 years of experience in commercial banking (Bank of America and Fifth Third Bank). She is a transplant to Minnesota like many of the students she connects with, and having lived in several regions of the country, loves introducing folks to the educational and professional opportunities that exist in the "Bold North" of Minnesota. In her spare time, Susan loves traveling, cooking, hiking with her family and two children, and exploring new Twin Cities restaurants. - Garth Herbert.png)
Amber Elliot
Associate Director of Recruiting
Carlson School of Management Amber Elliott is an Associate Director of Recruiting for MBA and MS Programs at the Carlson School of Management. Originally coming from a background in anthropology, she transitioned into higher education after discovering how much she enjoyed working with and supporting students. She recently earned her M.Ed. in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University, and her experience in graduate advising at ASU helped shape her student-centered approach to recruitment. Amber is passionate about creating inclusive and accessible experiences that help prospective students feel informed, supported, and connected throughout the admissions process. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, playing cozy games like Stardew Valley and the Sims, baking sourdough, and taking care of her growing collection of plants.
